New Year’s Eve may look a little different this year. Whether you are ringing in the New Year at home, or with friends, you may be looking for something to keep the kids entertained while waiting for the ball drop. This New Year’s Eve Ball Craft For Kids only requires a few simple supplies and will no doubt keep the kids occupied so you can enjoy the evening.
Aside from a pretty ornament, this is a great way to practice those fine motor skills. Attaching the sequins with the push pins definitely requires some serious hand eye coordination. That being said, since you are using push pins it this craft may be best for older kids.
What are your thoughts on the New Year? Me, I’m entering it extremely anxious. I’m still trying to gather all my thoughts on my reflections from the year we are ending (I can’t even get myself to type the actual year.) The year has definitely made me appreciate a lot of things, but as I reflect on the things we’ve had to miss out on, my heart breaks. For someone who is a planner, likes to know what to expect, and doesn’t like surprises or a wrench being thrown in their plans, this has been a very difficult year. I’m definitely being tested, but I’m refusing to give in! Things I thought I would never get through. Guess what? I made it! I would like to think it made me a stronger person. If I can gather all my thoughts I would like to do a reflection post. We’ll see!
Anyway, back to this New Year’s Eve Ball Craft
New Year’s Eve Ball Craft
You will need:
Begin by attaching the ribbon to the Styrofoam ball with the push pins. I let the girls pick their ribbon color, and as I look at these pictures, it definitely doesn’t match, but it’s their craft not mine:)
Once the ribbon is attached, you can start adding the sequins by attaching them with the pushpins. We picked an assorted color of push pins to add to the look!
Continue this step until the entire ball is covered. Then hang to display.
I know I titled this New Year’s Eve Ball, but this also makes an awesome Christmas ornament.
