Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 loaf Texas Toast
  • butter
  • powdered sugar, syrup for topping, optional

Instructions

  • Whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Pour into a shallow dish that is large enough to fit the bread slices.
  • Heat griddle to 350 degrees or frying pan on medium high heat. Melt about 2 Tablespoons of butter in the griddle or frying pan. Use a spatula to evenly melt the butter by smearing it around the griddle or frying pan.
  • Add a slice of Texas Toast to the batter and let it soak on each side for about 8-10 seconds.
  • Place the toast on a hot griddle or frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until it is golden brown. Serve immediately or place in oven to keep warm.
  • Serve with powdered sugar and syrup if desired.
