Ingredients
For the Bars
1Cup buttersoftened
2 Cupssugar
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1 teaspoonalmond extract
5cupsall-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4teaspoonbaking soda
For the Icing
1 Cupbuttersoftened
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
pinch of salt
4 1/2 cupspowdered sugar
3-4Tablespoonsmilk
few drops food coloring, if desired
sprinkles, if desired
Instructions
For the bars:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease a jelly roll pan (13x18) with cooking spray.
Cream the butter, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract together. Add in eggs one at a time beating well after each mixture.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well until combined.
Press evenly onto jelly roll pan and bake for 12-15 minutes then cool completely.
For the Icing:
Beat the butter, salt, vanilla, and almond together until well mixed.
Slowly add in the powdered sugar while on low. Once it is well incorporated, stir on medium.
Gradually add in the milk until desired consistency is reached. Icing should be light and fluffy.
Stir in the food coloring if using then spread evenly over cooled bars. Decorate with sprinkles if using.
