Easy Crockpot Applesauce

A delicious fall treat that you can enjoy all year long.

Ingredients

  • 3-5 pounds applesauce I use any variety of apple although, I tend to stay away from Red Delicious and Honeycrisp. No real reason other than they aren't my preference when making applesauce.
  • 1/2 cup sugar more depending on taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon more depending on taste
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Peel and slice the apples and place in crockpot. (I fill my 6quart crockpot to the top)
  • Add water and lemon juice and stir.
  • Add sugar and cinnamon and stir.
  • Cook on low 4-5 hours or until apples are soft.
  • Stir and mash with potato masher. Add more sugar and cinnamon to taste.
  • Let cool in the fridge, then spoon into freezer bags or freezer containers.
