Cherry Pie Bars

Summer will be here soon and that means cherry season!!! These Cherry Pie Bars are the perfect summer dessert!

Ingredients

Bars

Glaze:

  • 1 Cuppowdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoonvanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon milk or more until desired consistency is reached. Glaze should be thick, but still drizz-able

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13 pan and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream the butter, salt, and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in vanilla, almond extract, and eggs and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add in flour and mix well.
  • Spread thin layer, about 1/4", into greased pan, reserving rest of batter for topping.
  • Top evenly with pie filling.
  • Drop spoonfuls of remaining batter over filling.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool completely

Glaze

  • Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to desired consistency.
  • Drizzle over top of cooled bars.
