Easy Crockpot Applesauce
A delicious fall treat that you can enjoy all year long.
- 3-5 pounds applesauce I use any variety of apple although, I tend to stay away from Red Delicious and Honeycrisp. No real reason other than they aren't my preference when making applesauce.
- 1/2 cup sugar more depending on taste
- 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon more depending on taste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
Peel and slice the apples and place in crockpot. (I fill my 6quart crockpot to the top)
Add water and lemon juice and stir.
Add sugar and cinnamon and stir.
Cook on low 4-5 hours or until apples are soft.
Stir and mash with potato masher. Add more sugar and cinnamon to taste.
Let cool in the fridge, then spoon into freezer bags or freezer containers.
