Pan-Fried Cubed Steak and Gravy

What You Will Need
Cubed Steak
Gravy
  • Remaining oil from cooking cubed steak. (Drain meat pieces using colander)
  • 3 Cups milk, plus more as needed
  • ½ Cup flour, plus more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, more or less to taste
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt, more or less to taste
What You Do
  1. Gently combine the flour, seasoned salt, black pepper, chili powder, and garlic powder in a 9x13 cassserole pan.
  2. Roll the thawed cubed steak patties in the flour, generously.
  3. Add oil to a saucepan and let it heat up for a few moments on medium high heat. Add the patties and cook each side for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove to a baking pan.
  5. Cover steaks halfway with water.
  6. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.
  7. Do not discard oil!
Gravy
  1. Drain bits of meat from oil using a colander.
  2. Add oil back to saucepan.
  3. Whisk in milk, flour, black pepper, and seasoned salt.
  4. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes, whisking constantly.
  5. Reduce heat to low and continue whisking.
  6. If gravy is too thick, add more milk. Too thin, add more flour.
  7. Continue cooking until desired consistency is reached.
